Description
Take to the skies at the controls of the most advanced fighter plane in the world: the F-111X. Armed to the teeth with high-tech weapons systems, you fly a series of 7 missions - ranging from heavy-duty bombing raids to stealth reconnaissance expeditions over hostile enemy territory.
Espionage, treachery and the threat of World War III are just three of the problems to confront - apart, of course, from ten of the most dangerous combat missions to grace a PlayStation title. Before you take to the sky, choose between ballute iron bombs, cluster bombs, napalm canisters, AIM-3 SideWinders, Sparrow and ASRAAM missiles and an arsenal of laser-guided munitions. Then do battle.
Agile Warrior is a shoot-em-up that is disguised as a flight sim. The F111-X is a fictitious aircraft that you must guide through nine treacherous missions, taking out the enemy encampments and strategic positions as you go.
Set in present day, you are a member of the NATO forces against a bunch of vicious terrorists. Between each mission is a FMV sequence that will brief you of the task you are about to begin.
Viewed from the cockpit, you will be regularly updated by your copilot of any incoming enemies that are in the region. If you are shot down then the screams of Eject, Eject will reverberate through your head piece resulting in the end of the game.
Of the nine missions, only three can be immediately accessed with each involving blowing up a specific target in a set order. You must alter your speed accordingly because if you race through the air at top speed you will only run straight into trouble.
Power ups can be gained by destroying an enemy plane which leaves behind an assortment of fuel, armor and weaponry but if you accidentally shoot at the power ups they will explode and then disappear.
There is also the option to use the suicide button if things get a little too hot up there but this will only result in your craft plummeting to the ground and will be regarded as a cowardly action.
There are many world locations to fly such as French Guyana, Kamchatka and Pakistan
The Facts:
Despite achieving record kill ratios with unsurpassed precision during Desert Storm, the United States Air Force retired its entire squadron of F-111 fighter-bombers in 1995.
With dozens of international conflicts on the rise, and the increasing proliferation nuclear and chemical weapons to terrorist nations, the Air Force needed a new multi-role, first strike warplane for its covert operations.
This new fighter would combine the YF-23's high performance airframe, the X-31's thrust-vectoring maneuverability, and the F-111's superior terrain and weapon-guidance systems.

This is a really entertaining game. Even when you fail you have fun and think:"WOW, I want to try again!" There is a lot of brutality and destruction here, but you have to be smart and try some different strategies before you get it right. There are no annoying time limits (I hate those)and the graphics look OK to me. I wouldn´t call it realistic (you can hear parachuted pilots screaming in agony when you cut them in half whith your machinegun) but there are other games to fill that requirement. This is intense non stop combat. Fire, explosions, flying debris and blood. In other words: lots of fun.
